Buccaneer Days is a pretty serious pirate party, both on land and on the water. After a full day and night of socializing with various scalawags and wenches I took Sunday morning to sleep in a little. I enjoyed a few minutes of quiet, easy boat rocking then made my way to the back deck and discovered I was the only one on the boat. Relaxing a bit I took in the cool crisp air and the warmth of the sun. Then I heard Theresa's ringtone, answered, and told her she was missing great morning on the island. She then asked if I was alone in kind of serious tone, which caused me a moment of concern. Then she said I have big news . . . "I'm pregnant,"sounding a little surprised. After being stunned for a moment I said "congratulations, congratulations to us." While it was not completely unexpected, it still gave us a moment of astonishment. When I asked Theresa how she was sure, she said she had taken four pregnancy tests, one the night before and three different brands that morning. We were both a little amazed, but excited. It was a perfect morning to find out that we would be parents. I soon grabbed a shore boat and joined Nici and Aaron for breakfast. I did not want to tell anyone yet and it became even harder to contain my excitement when talk turned to next year's trip. Both Nici and Arron ended some of their thoughts with "if you and Theresa don't have a baby by then." When I returned home that afternoon the first thing I saw when I walked in was this proud display:
We hugged and kissed, then looked at each other with expressions of Wow, can you believe it?
