4th of July Weekend

We had a fun-filled 4th of July weekend with Kate.

On Friday, we celebrated the holiday at my cousin Nici's house in Newport Beach.

Quite a spread. There is never a shortage of food, drinks, or hospitality at Nici and Aaron's.

And, we had to document this!  Kate let off a 4th of July rocket of her own. Steve and I had just changed her diaper and were enjoying a sweet moment with her when all of the sudden she exploded. We learned our new parent lesson...always have coverage. Sorry again about your bedspread Nici!

Saturday was spent swimming, eating, and spending quality time with two of Steve's best friends, Rocco and Gary, and their families at the Pestana's house in South Pasadena.

In what was a really sweet moment, Natalia and Callie came to find me with their babies in their arms. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of the boys (Ben, Luke, Max, or Jack).

As new parents we felt pretty proud that we made it out of the house for two long days in a row with our 4 week-old in tow. Today, we were very grateful to stay home and rest!
